Is your doggo suitable for home boarding?

Yes...we have come to realise that not all dogs are suitable for home boarding!

Here's some types of dogs and reasons why they are not suitable .

Aggressors - home boarders are likely to be a pawrent, just like you.  Unless they are also professional trainers, you run the risk of subjecting them and their family members to your doggo's aggression; regardless of how much effort they put into caring for your doggo.  Being a responsible and conscientious pawrent, you should instead, take this opportunity to send your doggo to a professional trainer for behaviour training, and continue that training when your doggo return to you. A doggo's bite(even small ones) can be fatal due to infection, and you are liable for your doggo's biting of other doggos and hoomans; so do your part in preventing that from happening.

Barkies - if your doggo is prone to barking incessantly, especially in the night, it is not advisable to board your doggo at a residence with other dogs.  There is a saying that you can take a doggo out of a pack but you cannot take the pack out of the doggo.  When your doggo barks, esp. in the night, it can spark off more barking from the pack that is also boarding at the same time.  This may create too much noise for the neighbourhood.  A commercial boarder that is more secluded may be more suitable.  You may also try out with daycare at the boarder so your doggo can get familiar with the boarder and if your doggo listens to the boarder's commands, it may work out during boarding.

Howlers -  some doggo breeds have a tendency to howl...e.g. beagles, huskies etc. However, we have also come across beagles that do not howl or have a low tendency to howl.   As these breeds typically howl to get attention, if your doggo is regularly left unattended at home for long periods, it would have a higher tendency to howl.  Similar to barkers, a commercial boarder that is more secluded would be more suitable.

Lastly, we should also mention that in some jurisdiction, you need to check that your doggo breed is allowed at the boarder's residence type.  For example, in Singapore, only these breeds allowed in public housing estates.
