Hey everypawdy, if you are having a movie night with your pawrents, we recommend you to watch Togo, a 2019 movie based on the true story of a Siberian Husky who helped his musher, Leonhard Seppala, lead a sledding dog pack in the 1925 serum run to Nome, Alaska, to transport diphtheria antitoxin serum over 600miles and under harsh winter conditions during an epidemic of diphtheria. When Togo was an adopted puppy, Seppala wanted to retire him due to his small and weak physical state. Thanks to Seppala’s wife Constance, who was strongly supportive of this underdog, the people of Nome was eventually saved by Togo when he was 12 years old.
Rated on Rotten Tomatoes with Tomatometer score of 92% and Audience Score of 95%, Rotten Tomatoes’ Critics Consensus described the film as an endearing and exciting underdog story that benefits greatly from its stars (canine and human alike), Togo is a timeless tale, well-told.
Muffin and family absolutely loved watching Togo. We want more doggos and pawrents to watch it, be inspired by a doggo and celebrate Togo's heroic achievement.
